The taste of the Reng takes its original name from that given to the Balaguer market around 1803. The “Reng” was where the fruits and vegetables of the Balaguer farms were sold, thus the husband and wife proprietors Sílvia and Toni chose the name so their sole use of fresh market produce would be clear. Toni takes charge of the kitchen, while Silvia looks a er the dining room. On the menu, expect to find seventy percent local produce and thirty percent organic, as well as a selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Among its star dishes are the red tuna tartar, grilled octopus, slow-cooked mixed suckling pig sandwiches, and artichoke heart stuffed with foie micuit, mango, and Pedro Ximénez caramel.
