Petit Montjuïc’s charm is diffcult to describe. Located close to the Teatre Grec, this “kiosk”, as the owners call it, has space for no more than 20 diners. Marta and Souhail decided to open it at the insistence of their friends and acquaintances who had already tried their delicious Mediterranean food with touches of Argel de Souhail: soups and stews to soak in the bread, based on recipes from their grandmothers and aunties, and made with local produce. Its couscous is among the best in Barcelona, seasoned with spices from the native country yet adapted to the local palate, uniting both sides of the Mediterranean. In fact, the food is so good that customers clap and applaud as it leaves the kitchen. The couple also adds vibrance and colour to the neighborhood, not least because they promote the Festa Major de l’Alt Poble-sec festival.
