This restaurant is one of the best-kept secrets of Barcelona – not only for the lack of a sign at its entrance, but also because it’s tucked away at the end of a hidden alley. The establishment has no menu, and its dishes vary depending on what fresh produce is available in the market that day. The team like to handpick their ingredients from its place of origin and work exclusively with small local producers, although their biggest secret pertains to how long they cook each dish. The cuisine is based on traditional recipes that the chef learned from his grandmother, a distinguished chef called Pilar. Later, they opened the Passadis d’en Pep with an all-star team: Pilar in the kitchen with Pep’s brother Joan, who ran the restaurant successfully for many years until his son Joan took the reins.
