This farmhouse is located in the Can Canyet neighbourhood, which means “stream” in English. For much of its life, the hundred-year-old building housed all different kinds of livestock. About 20 years ago, the groundskeepers who took over decided to set up a small restaurant there, which they ran for a while. As you know, however, running a family business can be tough, so they eventually transferred it to another couple called Mauro and Jimena. The duo continued the restaurant and hired a promising young cook named Joan, who finally ended up taking over the business along with his wife, Maria. These days, they tend to their own garden and serve home-style seasonal cuisine, mainly Catalan recipes made from fresh locally sourced produce.
