This emblematic restaurant was inaugurated in 1835 in the Gothic
quarter of Barcelona and has since been visited by many famous folk
such as Dalí, Dior, Robert de Niro, and Eric Clapton, among others.
The Bofarull family is the biggest name in the Barcelona restaurant
business, and their gastronomic history dates back to 1835 when
Agustí Bofarull and his wife opened this restaurant under the name
of Can Bofarull. Since 1915, it’s been known as Los Caracoles (the
snails), a tribute to its superstar dish. If you’re not a fan of snails,
you’ll find a wide variety of other dishes to choose from in the menu
such as vermicelli pasta, roast chicken (which you can see roasting as
you come in), paella, and bouillabaisse soup.
