Brothers Toni and Valentí Mongay opened La Salseta together in 1990 with the idea of offering their customers a traditional Mediterranean menu based on typical Catalan recipes, where both the produce and its origin were of utmost importance. The two support local Garraf farmers of the 0 km movement and buy from organic producers whenever possible. Furthermore, chef Valentí is passionate about the Slow Food movement, so much so that he was one of the first cooks in Catalonia to join the trend. The result of these various interests is a solid selection of delicious and well-presented dishes, with a particular emphasis on seafood. Their rice dishes and fresh ocean delicacies such as octopus and cod have become classic options at this restaurant.
