The Tancat de Codorniu is run by Angel and Irene, the second generation of the Llasera family. The magnificent building, which is more than 160-years-old and was renovated in 2002, is part of the Architectural Heritage Inventory of the Generalitat. Located in a grand walled estate and surrounded by 2500 orange trees, it once served as the summer destination of King Alfonso XII. The cuisine here is Mediterranean and sincere, with a strong commitment to locally grown and seasonal produce, much of which comes from its very own farm. There’s also an extensive wine cellar with about 70 top wines and sparkling whites to choose from. Standout dishes include the grilled sea bass with prawn sauce, the vegetable stew, and the rice with lobster.
