Twenty-six years ago, Josep and Cinta started managing the Hotel-Restaurant
Can Josep in the heart of the Terra Alta. With Josep already
having had a long career in the kitchen, Cinta, a Bot native, saw the
opportunity to open a restaurant in their village, which they’d expand
to become a hotel four years later. The entrepreneurial couple were
pioneers of rural tourism in the region. Their establishment, full of
charm and with impeccable attention to detail, serves quality cuisine
made from locally sourced meats and vegetables as well as fish from
the markets of L’Ampolla and Sant Carles de la Ràpita, all of which is
best washed down with some Terra Alta wine. Must-try dishes include
eggs with Ports’ truffles and Terra Alta lamb.
