In 1935, Mrs. Blanca, who was the grandmother of the family, opened a
three-room inn. Years later, her godson Jaume Farrarons took over the
place and has since passed it on to his children. Nowadays, Carme runs
the hotel while Quim and Pep take care of the restaurant, together with
the youngest Farrarons generation and with help from a man named
Eneco, when he’s not working at his own gastronomic space called La
Blanca. The restaurant aimed to create a menu based on traditional and
regional recipes using quality local produce. However, with the new
space they’re more about portraying the career paths and life experiences
of the family through their cuisine. This is done through traditional
recipes from the Empordà region and a more innovative menu with
influences from the Basque Country and other places they’ve visited.
