A married couple and their two children run this authentic Catalan restaurant out of a magnificent 16th-century farmhouse, which is right next to their home. The couple told us it used to be a rest stop, where the horses that drew stagecoaches between Barcelona and France would rest while their owners would get something to eat. Legend has it that a queen even once spent the night inside! Of course, we’ve no way of proving a queen ever really slept there, but we do know the current restaurant opened in 1963. It all started when the farmhouse owner smelt a delicious stew wafting in from next door and suggested they open a restaurant inside his barn in exchange for rent.
