The owner’s father, Marcel·lí, grew up in a family farmhouse that served food thereby learning the basics of the trade. Years later, he would venture out alone to learn to cook while working in various restaurants of the province. Later still, he and his wife Rosa found a small and cosy place in Castellar, which they renovated from top to bottom with utmost passion and dedication to create their own restaurant more than forty years ago. At just 19, their son Carles joined the project and now runs the business with the help of his wife, Laia. Little by little, Carles has been adding new techniques and more contemporary dishes to the menu, without ever losing sight of the primary objective: to cook quality, locally sourced and seasonal produce using ancient recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.
