Sol Ixent was renovated in 2008, transforming into the modern first
class hotel and restaurant we see today. The chef Ulises and his sister
Míriam Ballesta run the show, both of whom have followed in the
footsteps of their parents. Ulises began his career as a cook after their
previous chef was unable to work due to an accident. After studying at
cooking school, he quickly became passionate about the artform and
has not stopped whipping up quality cuisine and providing excellent
customer service ever since. The duo grows many of their vegetables
themselves and use locally sourced and seasonal produce. Sol Ixent is
an oasis of calm and beauty, and its owners are well aware they must
respect the surrounding environment, which is why everything is so
thoroughly planned and taken care of.
