Maria Antònia and her partner Josep Maria were heavily involved in the
amateur theatre scene until one day they decided they wanted to open
a bar. While searching for a place to call their own, their love of marble
tables brought them to this old Poblenou fishermen’s tavern on the
former central square. Indeed, the couple didn’t need to keep searching
for they’d found the place of their dreams. In 1979, they opened as a
bar, and in 1987 they began serving hearty meals at midday. In 2012,
their son Marc joined the family business, which he dedicates himself
to heart and soul. The restaurant serves traditional and unpretentious
Catalan cuisine, with emphasis on market-fresh produce as the star of
the show. In short, it’s fresh and honest food that’s cooked with great
dedication to ensure the customer always leaves satisfied.
