The Sant Daniel neighbourhood, once a town on the outskirts of Girona,
retains its charm even though it was annexed more than 30 years ago.
The current owners, Lofti and Montse, had a small but famous restaurant
for 23 years called El Cul de la Lleona. When they decided to
change premises, they held a competition for their customers to name
the new establishment, for which the winner was El Cul del Món (the
arse end of the world). Of course, the customers only chose the unorthodox
name because the new location was too far from the centre. The
team serves market fresh and seasonal cuisine, using Catalan recipes
and a touch of Moroccan influences – an exotic combination enhanced
by locally sourced and eco-friendly cuisine. In summer, guests can dine
outside on the terrace which hosts live music on Thursdays.
