Masiques comes from a family with a long history in the hospitality
industry – his grandparents were the owners of the famous Hostal de
la Plaza, in the centre of Cabrils. After growing up in his grandmother’s
kitchen, he decided he would study at the Barcelona Hospitality School.
Upon graduation, he took over a restaurant in the town called Can Rin
along with his brother Andrés and later his wife, Patricia. A few years
ago, they moved to the manor house they occupy today, which is a
classic regional example of an old 19th-century summer home, coming
complete with a sundial designed by Dalí on the facade. There, they
offer modern Catalan cuisine, which is markedly Mediterranean and
seasonal. In summer, they grow much of their own produce in their
garden and source everything else from local Farmers.
