The story of Can Maño began when Pili’s grandparents arrived in
Barcelona from Castellón after losing everything they owned in a devastating
flood. Through a relative, they acquired this small place to
turn into a restaurant. Lured in by the quality of the food, the workers
soon came to eat in droves. Some bought their lunchboxes while others
simply pointed at the dish of the day, taking a seat around a communal
table to swap stories. These days, Pili and her husband still use
the grandmother’s recipes. In this modest locale, you can relish in an
authentic atmosphere and admire their traditional antique furniture
any day of the week. You can even enjoy a group of musicians play as
you eat, or accept the invitation of a stranger to share a table. It is worth
bearing in mind that they don’t do a set menu or take reservations.
