The year 1961 saw the inauguration of Restaurant Amoca, a name that
comes from the combination of the first syllables of the founding couple’s
surnames: Amorós and Camarasa. These days, the restaurant is
run by the second and third generation, Josep and Dolors, as well as
their son, Pep. Josep learned how to cook from his parents, Ramon
and Antoinette. However, it is his son Pep who brings a contemporary
touch of haute cuisine to the menu, inspired by his gastronomic studies
and the time he’s spent working in prestigious restaurants around the
region. Pep’s menu is extensive and varied, although the Linyola casserole
is the undisputed highlight, which has been the restaurant’s signature
dish since the beginning. Unlike a traditional casserole, it contains
spinach and a few secret ingredients known only to the kitchen team.
